My auntie Karen was another inspiration for my business. She is my mom's long time best friend, who has always been family to me.  She and my mom both love handmade, and I grew up going to local craft fairs with them.  For years, Auntie Karen had even owned a craft business selling her handmade primitive decor. From a young age, she'd let me come along with her to yard sales, flea markets and antique shops, where she sourced materials for her crafts. She would also acquire items to repurpose for her home decor. I adored spending time with her. Every fall, I looked forward to visiting her tent at a local fair to purchase her handmade dolls, which reminded me of Tim Burton characters. She usually worked with vintage and antique materials for her crafts, as well as for her market displays.  Primitive style isn't really my thing, but I loved how she always made sure to create different kinds of dolls, including witches, and skeletons, which were my favorite.  I still have these dolls, and they are treasured keepsakes, especially where she stopped making them, after her sister Kathy passed away.
